Extra Laouto strings are among the best-known Greek brands for traditional stringed instruments. The 0.10 set is made for the tzouras and is also used on the 6-string bouzouki, tuned D-A-D.
The 0.10 gauge is lighter than the more common 0.11, offering a more comfortable fretting feel and lower tension under the fingers, which suits short-scale instruments especially well. The wound low D is tuned an octave below the other strings, giving depth and a solid foundation to the sound.
