One of the most unique instruments in our shop — the Tabouras-bouzouko. Handmade with top-quality materials by master luthier and good friend Mr. Leonidas.
This gorgeous instrument features perde frets (not the standard metal frets), based on the Middle Eastern fretting systems of the tabouras and saz. This gives you the freedom to move them, allowing for either a microtonal system or the standard half-tone system.
Characteristics:
- Top: Solid Spruce (AAA)
- Back: 15 pieces of solid rosewood (made on Mr. Leonidas’s custom mold)
- Fretboard: Ebony
- Neck: Mahogany with three (3) ebony bars for extra support
- Headstock: Mahogany with eagle-head carving
- Pearl and wooden inlays
- String number: 7 strings
